Discovery 2

If you are hungry and ready to learn about God, these small groups will explore many exciting aspects of faith, including introducing members to the main story line of the Bible, exploring the habits of the Christ-follower’s life, and looking carefully at the life of Christ.  These groups also may explore various books of the Bible. Generally 10-16 weeks in length with expectation of pre-work.

Too Busy Not to Pray

For the past twenty years this classic on prayer has been helping Christians all over the world slow down to draw near to God.  During those years, the world certainly hasn’t slowed down.  If anything, the pace, intensity and number of distractions have only increased.  Brokenness and pain in our lives and in the world seem to have increased as well.  The urgent need for prayer is clear, but busyness still keeps many of us from finding time to pray.

Two truths haven’t changed in twenty years:  God is the same powerful, just, holy God he’s always been.  And true prayer—prayer that changes and allows us to participate in God’s work in the world-can’t happen on the fly.  So Bill Hybels offers us his practical, time-tested ideas on slowing down to pray.  Too Busy Not to Pray broadens our vision for what our eternal, powerful God does when his people slow down to pray.

This is a book discussion with some occasional study of the Scriptures.   Involves approximately 2 hours of weekly preparation.  Regular committed preparation and attendance is encouraged. This study will meet for 11 weeks. Fee: $13.

Tuesday Evenings, January 19 - April 13
No meetings: February 16, March 9
